Adoptive placement question - Adoption.com Forums

It can work! One of our foster placements that went on to be adopted had a similar situation happen. About a couple months after they moved in with their new family, the dad had a great job offer out of state. He was doing some "commuting" at first, would go out there for a couple weeks, then come home for a weekend. The wife stayed behind so the kids could finish out the school year, and they still hadn't sold their house.

If the team approves moving the kids, and having a local worker continue the visits/check-ins, you will most likely have to still come back to your home state/county for the finalization. But I don't know, maybe they can even have that done in your new state? It might depend on the originating state.

Contact the kids' SW and let them know what is going on. I imagine, they will not want to move the kids just because you will be moving. That would not be good for the kids.

Good Luck!
